When we are performing a home inspection and check dryer vents, many times they are clogged with lint, and I have to wonder if the homeowner’s clothes are taking a long time to dry, if they are drying at all.
This mostly clogged dryer vent was found during a home inspection in Fort Worth a few days ago.
The dryer vent cap was on the roof and all looked well, until I used my camera to take a picture inside and saw that it was just about blocked off with compacted lint. We recommended it be cleaned.
You might want to have your dryer vent checked occasionally and cleaned as needed by a professional. It could just prevent a lint fire, save some electricity, and dry your clothes faster.
